I Tirelessly Ranked Every “National Treasure” Movie

Only read this post if you’ve got a lot of time on your hands.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Book of Secrets is both the runner up AND ranked dead last. It’s not that I don’t love this movie, it’s just that it wouldn’t exist without — spoiler — number one on this list. It has the second greatest line in the history of cinema, “I’m gonna kidnap the president of the United States,” and lights out performances from everyone involved. Where does the movie fall flat? I’m glad you asked. We’re left with a cliffhanger at the very end — what the hell is on page 47? — and a promise of a third film. So far? THERE IS NO THIRD FILM.

It’s finally here, the moment you’ve been waiting for. We’ve come a long way and we’re finally at number one. And let’s be honest here, was there ever any doubt? National Treasure is the movie that inspired an entire generation of future cryptologists, who are probably all still in school but will be doing big things any day now! A treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence? Hell yeah!
